Message Board Guidelines

OUR PURPOSE:

The Jarchives Message Board was created to be an extension of Jars of Clay's ministry in the spirit of Christian fellowship among fans and friends. We thank you for your encouragement and your participation on the board and hope you'll continue to support this ministry.

GENERAL GUIDELINES:

As part of Jars' ministry, we support the band and its message. We will not show discrimination against anyone's faith, gender, nationality, or educational background, but welcome all registered members and participants. We welcome conversations. We welcome different opinions on topics. However, we do not welcome arguments regarding a person's opinion. Please respect opinions, even if they are very different from one's own.

We do not tolerate any verbal abuse of other members. If there are posts from people that are rude and blatantly critical, please do not post criticisms in response to those posts. Please email your complaints to info@jarchives.com, and we will address the problem through email with the original poster.

Verbally abusive posts will be immediately removed from the message board by a moderator with no prior notice, followed by an email response to the poster. The removal of posts is completely based on moderator discretion.

Posters who participate in a "flame war" or show continued abusive behavior will be issued a "time out" for one week. This "time out" will be issued with an email notification. If 3 "time outs" are issued, then the person will be banned from message board participation. The administrator of the Jarchives' website reserves the right to determine the degree of behavioral severity that will warrant a "time out" period. Please know that we are not a dictatorship, and careful consideration will be taken before any permanent response insues.

We advise exercising caution when communicating with others outside of the Jarchives message board environment. Even though some great "real life" friendships have grown from the message board, the administrators and moderators of Jarchives do not claim any responsibity for personal problems occurring outside of the message board. There is a lot of information on online safety for students and youth which can be found at NetSmatz Online Safety which we advise you to read and consider.

All Jars of Clay fans have the right to communicate together in a comfortable environment. Please honor the work we have put into our message board, our website, and band we are here to support in ministry!

Thanks and Blessings,
Libby Perry    www.jarchives.com

JARCHIVES MESSAGE BOARD MODERATORS
Libby

Libby Perry - Libby first started assisting Andy Lowell (Charlie Lowell's older brother) in publishing the last few issues of Earthen Vessels, Jars of Clay's email newsletter which was discontinued in 1999. The concept and plan of www.jarchives.com was presented to and approved by the band Spring of 2000 in an effort to continue the spirit of Earthen Vessels' ministry. Libby and Kathy Hightower have managed the jarchives website since May 2000. Libby has also worked with the Jars of Clay Fan Club and has worked with Jars of Clay's online fan communication since early 2002. She is the mother of two boys. Her husband is a periodontist. She works at the Medical College of GA as an electron microscopist in neuroscience research.

Geeves

"Geeves" - Born in Georgia, but having grown up in Chicago, Geeves came across the music and ministry of Jars of Clay by accident. During the fall of 1996 while attending new student orientation at The College of Wooster in Ohio, someone heard that he listened to a lot of Christian music and gave him an extra copy of Jars' self-titled CD and he got hooked ever since. He started attending concerts in 1997 and became a frequent contributor to Jarchives.com shortly after its debut. Four years out of college, Geeves currently works in accounting outside Chicago and resides in an apartment in the western suburbs. In his spare time you'll find him playing frisbee or working out in the gym. He loves watching reruns of Seinfeld and attending Cubs baseball at Wrigley Field. He is also fascinated with cooking shows, although he has never been able to master the art of cooking. "I make a mean delivery," he says, "Nobody can dial faster than I do."

Lynn

Lynn Hickernell - Lynn first heard "Flood" on mainstream radio in 1996, bought her first Jars CD in 1999, and won her first Jarchives contest in 2001. In May 2002 she contributed an original contest to the Jarchives website, and since November of that year has been working with Kathy and Libby to coordinate these monthly tests of intellect and obscure knowledge. When not consumed with her job as Director of Christian Education at the Bridgewater United Methodist Church in Bridgewater, NJ, she likes to travel and knit.
