NAME THAT JAR

Sometimes you hear a quote and you think, "Gee! I wish I'd said that!" Sometimes you hear a quote and you think "Where in the Sam Hill did that come from?" Well in our "Name that Jar" contest, chances are you might think a little of both. So give it a try... meditate, peruse, delve, or guess.

1. "The Beatles really struck a chord with me. I had the White Album checked out from the library for an entire summer."

2. "Happiness is what we can have when we do the right things or accomplish things, but moments of real joy are always gifts straight from the Father."

3. "We all took different jobs. I think I worked at almost every record store in Nashville for a day or so."

4. "When I was 8 or 9, I went to a cowboy-Christian-summer-camp-type thing. My first memory of committing my life to Christ was at that camp."

5. "The four of us shared an apartment together. And we'd heard somewhere you could put Dawn in the dishwasher. So I tried it."

6. "Do NOT feed the bass player!"

7. "How often it seems like we just miss God. We finally lift our eyes in time to see the soft glow of him just departed."

8. "This music is approved by discriminating Dalmatians everywhere. It's not just for humans anymore."

9. "This is a song about letting go and about breaking down and giving ourselves over to Jesus Christ.

10. "Creamed corn. I love drinking it right out of a mug with a big slice of deep-dish spinach pizza pie on the side."

11. "It's probably from being insecure when I was first learning, feeling like I shouldn't just sit there. I should be doing something."

12. "First Mate! Go get me my brown pants!"

13. "We very much want to be about ministry and sharing Christ with people. We see our music as a tremendous gift from God to help us do that."

14. "My folks divorced when I was a freshman in high school, and it really hit me hard. I began to question a lot of stuff my parents had taught me--especially their faith."

15. "Because all rhinos are named Billy!"

16. "The whole image of the jars of clay and the jar, how fragile that is, how easily broken-yet God entrusts His Savior in us. That's the theme that weaves through most of our music and that we're constantly blown away by."

17. "There were weeks or even a month or two where it was like, 'Man, I don't know if I'm excited about the album right now.'"

18. "When I buy detergent, I like to get ALL with bleach alternative. I like the word alternative, and I think I'm pretty alternative."

19. It's days like this I'm glad I'm wearing Depends Undergarments!"

20. "We've heard that nine different presidents have been on this stage. I suppose if you put them all together, they could probably rock!"

BONUS: "He keeps stealing things like Port-o-Pots and bringing them back to the bus, and we ask him what he's going to do with them?" (Who said this?) (Who was he talking about?)
