Music or Ministry, Message or Art?
"And in my brokennes to cry, Spring Worship unto Thee"

Since Jars of Clay decided to play music together on their dorm floor at Greenville College, they've been frequently asked, "What's more important, your message or your music?" For Jars of Clay the answer is "Both!" They consider their musical abilities and creativity of style to be a true gift from God. It is only through God's grace that they have the ability to write, develop, and sing music about their daily life's experiences within their walk with Christ. Their life revolves around their faith.

Through this faith, they're able to express lives of struggles, stumbles, blessings, but most of all, an ultimate dependency on God. Jars' music is their ministry... a definition of God's glory. In an interview, Steve Mason once said, "We're always going to be in process till the day that we die. And in my human-ness, I would love, at some point, to say that I have arrived or that I feel like I'm really in a good place and that I'll be there for a long time. But that's just not what the spiritual walk is about. Our relationship with God is not that. It's to really reveal His greatness and our destitute condition."
